THEEWATERSKLOOF MUNICIPALITY WELCOMES CAPE EPIC STAGE 4 TO GREYTON

The Absa Cape Epic has arrived in Theewaterskloof and the excitement is impossible to miss. As Stage 4 kicks off in Greyton today, our towns are buzzing with energy, world-class talent and a festive spirit that truly puts our region on the global map.
Following yesterday’s thrilling ride through Riviersonderend, the energy of this world-renowned event has already been felt across our communities, bringing with it excitement, opportunity and a vibrant atmosphere.
Last night, municipal leadership visited the official race village in Greyton, where the Executive Deputy Mayor Alderman Cynthia Clayton, acting Municipal Manager GW Hermanus and Director of Community Services Wilfred Solomons-Johannes had the honour of warmly welcoming riders and organisers on behalf of the municipality.
The visit underscored Theewaterskloof’s commitment to supporting and celebrating this prestigious international event.
Executive Mayor, Alderman Lincoln De Bruyn, who was also in attendance, expressed his pride in Theewaterskloof hosting the event:
“It is a tremendous honour for Theewaterskloof to be part of the Absa Cape Epic, one of the most prestigious mountain bike races in the world. Events of this scale shine a global spotlight on our region, boosting tourism, supporting local businesses and showcasing the natural beauty and hospitality of our towns. We are proud to welcome visitors from across the world to experience all that Theewaterskloof has to offer.”
Acting Municipal Manager, GW Hermanus, reaffirmed the municipality’s readiness and support:
“Our teams have been working diligently to ensure that all logistical and operational aspects run smoothly. From infrastructure readiness to community coordination, we stand prepared to assist organisers and participants wherever needed. We extend a warm welcome to all teams and visitors and trust that their experience in Theewaterskloof will be both memorable and enjoyable.”
