Information and Communication Technology

Information and Communication Technology is essential for local government in South Africa. Municipalities rely on Information and Communication Technology to deliver services to citizens, from generating revenue and paying bills to providing utilities like electricity and water.

The Western Cape Provincial Strategic Goals include Information and Communication Technology as a key priority. Theewaterskloof Municipality has a dedicated Municipal Information and Communication Technology division to align the municipal Information and Communication Technology environment with international best practices and the strategic goals of the Municipality and Western Cape Government.

The Municipal Information and Communication Technology division strives to uphold the following values:

  • Communication: We communicate constructively and openly with our colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Listening: We listen attentively to the needs of our colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Participation: We are active participants in the ICT community.
  • Sharing: We share our knowledge and expertise openly and willingly.
  • Cooperation: We cooperate with each other and with our stakeholders to achieve our goals.
  • Flexibility: We are flexible and adaptable to change.
  • Commitment: We are committed to our work and to the success of the Municipality.
  • Problem-solving: We are problem-solvers and we are always looking for ways to improve our services.
