Theewaterskloof Municipality’s disaster management, operational and emergency teams continue with mopping-up operations across our towns following the severe weather conditions experienced over the past 24 hours.Teams remain on the ground clearing fallen trees, opening storm water channels and attending to water infrastructure that was washed away due to severe weather conditions overnight.
Our electrical technicians are also hard at work with Eskom straightening electrical poles and restringing power lines, while operational teams assist with the removal of trees and debris to help restore electricity in affected areas. We extend our sincere gratitude to every official, technician, emergency responder and worker who has continued serving our communities under extremely difficult conditions throughout the past day and night. Your dedication and commitment are deeply appreciated.
We also thank residents for their patience and cooperation as response and recovery operations continue across the municipal area. We are trying our best to restore services as fast and safe as possible.
Any one who requires assistance or would like to report an incident can contact our 24/7 toll-free line on 080 021 4730.
We appeal to the public to refrain from creating and sharing unverified or misleading information, as this contributes to panic and places additional strain on response efforts.
