Salary: Post level T17 – Between R656 376.00 p.a. and R812 568.00 p.a. plus a travel allowance of R10 219.876 per month under certain conditions.
Responsibilities would involve the following : Manage the key performance areas and result indicators associated with an effective administrative service * Manage the staff in the various sections within Corporate Services * Manage the day to day running of the Directorate * Direct legal services in Council and provide legal and compliance advice to Council, Portfolio Committees as well as the rest of the organization * Responsible for keeping abreast of legal developments within the local and national government sphere and to assess the impact on the organization * Provide support to the Director Corporate Services in executing strategy, as well as monitoring and evaluating the implementation of strategy within the Directorate * Managing the departments’ budget and ensure compliance with SCM processes and requirements * Ensure that all plans / actions are aligned with all strategic goals of the functions within the Directorate. Represent Council in the South African Local Bargaining Council Conciliations, Arbitrations, CCMA and Labour Court * Research relevant Case Law and prepare case reports in preparation of disputes * other admin duties as requested from time to time.
