Description

Compliance with Minimum Competency Regulations for Senior Managers of municipalities as is provided for in Regulation 493 dated 15 June 2007 within 18 months of being appointed. Competency as required in terms of the General Machinery Regulations, 1988 and Registration with a recognized relevant Engineering professional body will be an added advantage.

The incumbent will be required to perform duties at the Greyton and Genadendal office on a weekly basis, as well as any other town within the Theewaterskloof Municipal area if and when there is an operational need.

The most eligible candidate must be in possession of an NQF5 (Technical “Artisan” qualification in concrete, bricklaying, carpentry or within the building industry) with three (3) years’ relevant experience in a housing or similar environment such as Construction Management Building; Building; Quantity Surveying and Architecture. Applicants must have the ability to read building plans and ensure that building works occur within the guidelines of the National Building Regulations and Standards Act, as well as the Health and Safety Act and the Norms and Standards of the National Housing Code. Be computer literate and have a valid Code B driver’s license. Be fluent in at least 2 of the 3 regional languages namely Afrikaans, English and Xhosa).
