EXAMINER OF VEHICLES

Description

The most eligible candidate must be in possession of a Grade 12 and Examiner of Vehicles Diploma and (3) to four (4) years’ experience. Applicants must be a registered as a Grade A Examiner of Vehicles with a valid Code EC and A driver’s license. Excellent communication skills in at least two (2) of the three (3) official languages in the Western Cape, namely English, Afrikaans and Xhosa.
No criminal record. Description

The most eligible candidate must be in possession of a Grade 12 and Examiner of Driving Licenses Diploma and two (2) years relevant experience. Applicants must be registered as an Examiner of Driving Licenses – Minimum Grade L and have a Code EC & A driver’s license. Must be trained and registered on the LEU eye test machine and have a full understanding of the latest procedure manual for NaTIS operators. Have a sound knowledge of the National Road Traffic Act, Act 93/96 and Provincial Regulations. Must be computer literary and able to communicate in at least two (2) of the three (3) official languages in the Western Cape, namely English, Afrikaans and Xhosa.

BUILDING INSPECTOR (ILLEGAL WORKS)

Salary: Post level T10 – Between: R 222 876.00 and R 289 272.00 p.a. plus an Essential Travel Allowance of R6517.94 per month subject to the terms and conditions as stipulated in the Council’s Essential Travel Allowance Policy

Description

The most eligible candidate must be in possession of a Grade 12 certificate with a three (3) year tertiary qualification in one of the following building environment related fields: Construction Management; Building; Quantity Surveying; Architecture OR Grade 12 with Certificate (Red Seal) in Building (Bricklaying / Carpentry/Plumbing) with a minimum of 2 years’ experience within in a local authority and/or a minimum of 2 years construction site experience OR A minimum of 3 years within a local authority and/or a minimum of 3 years construction site experience. Candidates must be able to work under pressure. Must be physical fit and able to work at heights. A valid Code B driver’s license. Must be computer literate, as well the ability to communicate in at least two (2) of the three (3) official languages of the Western Cape, namely English, Afrikaans and Xhosa.

SENIOR ACCOUNTANT: EXPENDITURE

Salary: Post level T13 – Between: R349 680.00 p.a. and R453 864.00 p.a.

Description

The most eligible candidate must be in possession of a Degree or Diploma with accounting or economics as subjects or a Senior Certificate with accounting or mathematics as subjects. Three (3) years relevant experience. Computer literate. Effective communication skills in at least two (2) of the three (3) official languages in the Western Cape, namely English, Afrikaans and Xhosa. The successful candidate if not already compliant with the Municipal Regulations on Minimum Competency Levels will be allowed 18 months from date of appointment to comply with the said regulations.

PRINCIPAL TOWN PLANNER

Salary: Post Level – T15: Between R453 864.00 p.a. and R589 164.00 p.a. plus a travel allowance of R9231.98 per month under certain conditions.

Description

Minimum Requirements: The most eligible candidate must be in possession of a relevant tertiary qualification in Town and Regional planning and be registered with SACPLAN as a professional Town Planner. Five (5) years’ experience in Town and Regional Planning. Sound knowledge of relevant Legislation. A valid code B driver’s license. Must be computer literate. Effective communication and interpersonal skills and proficient in at least two (2) of the three (3) official languages in the Western Cape, namely English, Afrikaans and Xhosa.

INTERNSHIP: FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT (TWO-YEAR CONTRACT)

Description

In order to meet the needs of the Theewaterskloof Municipality, the successful applicant will conform to the following:
* At least a B.Tech Degree or a relevant technical qualification registered on the National Qualifications Framework at a NQF level 7 with a minimum of 360 credits * 5 years’ experience at senior management level 3 – 4 years must have been attained at professional / management engineering environment. Compliance with Minimum Competency Regulations for Senior Managers of municipalities as is provided for in Regulation 493 dated 15 June 2007 within 18 months of being appointed. Competency as required in terms of the General Machinery Regulations, 1988 and Registration with a recognized relevant Engineering professional body will be an added advantage.
